4th November 2015
On Saturday 14th November, communities old and new will unite for the official opening of the beautiful Wellesley Woodlands, 271.8 acres of woodlands, wildlife habitats and lakes interlinked by footpaths and canal-side walks.
Festival organisers Grainger, the company building the new neighbourhood at Wellesley, the Land Trust and Blackwater Valley Countryside have put together a day of activities such as arts and crafts, educational nature tours and woodland walks for all the family.
Alan Chitson, a lifelong Aldershot resident and Grainger’s project manager at Wellesley said, “We would love for everyone to come along with their families and see the beautiful woodlands, which has been a year in the making and are are now open for everyone in the surrounding communities to enjoy.
The Wellesley Woodlands Festival will run from 12-4pm on Saturday, 14 November and the organisers are encouraging everyone to come along and discover the woodlands for the first time, whilst enjoying hot drinks, scrumptious bites from the food stalls and see the unveiling of the highly anticipated woodland sculptures at 2pm.
