Green Angels Hassall Green

Green Angels is an exciting training opportunity with an environmental focus, giving you the chance to learn new skills, change your future prospects and make a difference in your community. Our FREE courses cover subjects such as wildlife conservation, landscaping, environmental education, horticulture and more. Training programmes usually last around six weeks, with regular sessions that combine learning with hands-on experience.

Delivered across Hassall Green Nature Reserve, South Cheshire, and Silverdale Country Park, Newcastle-under-Lyme, this Green Angels programme started in July 2019 and courses will run throughout the rest 2020 and beyond.

Due to the current circumstances regarding Coronavirus, we may have to cancel or postpone our courses at short notice, but we will endeavour to inform you of any changes or cancellations as soon as possible. Please note that all courses are now being delivered with measures in place to ensure that they are COVID-secure. This includes much smaller group sizes and enhanced hygiene facilities. More details will be provided upon application.

Our proposed courses for the coming year are below. Please click on the Green Angels course titles for more information.

We will be running two guided walks in partnership with our managing partner Groundwork West Midlands. These walks will explore the history and ecology of Hassall Green Nature Reserve, and attendees will get a chance to take part in some practical conservation activities too:

  • 10:00am Saturday 24th October
  • 1.30pm Saturday 24th October

The following courses have been postponed, or are awaiting confirmation of the rescheduled dates:

The Nordic walking here is great for getting you fit. We do a three mile route through the woodlands and you feel top of the world when you've finished.
