The Land Trust invites expressions of interest for bat survey work at Fort Burgoyne, Dover

The Land Trust is seeking expressions of interest in quoting for bat survey work at Fort Burgoyne, Dover.

The Land Trust wishes to appoint a consultant for a 3-year term with option of 2-year extension.

Scope of services:

• Emergence surveys to confirm current absence of maternity roosts within the Fort
• Hibernation survey to record location, number and species of bat within the Fort
• Bat activity surveys targeted at swarming activity due to presence of hibernation roosts in line with current best practice
• Applications and compliance with approved survey licences from Natural England, where relevant
• Annual report on surveys
• Ad hoc advice on potential implications of planned works within the Fort
• Support for public bat walk event in conjunction with White Cliffs Countryside Partnership.

The Fort has an excellent relationship with Kent Bat Group, originally developed by Tardivel Ecology, and the Trust would be keen to see this continue.
