Farewell flypast over Osprey Quay as Lynx helicopter decommisioned

17th March 2017

A farewell flypast of Lynx helicopters organised by the Royal Navy to mark the official decommissioning of the aircraft took place in the skies above Osprey Quay on Friday 17th March.

The flypast took in several military sites connected with the Helicopter in the South of England, including former naval air base HMS Osprey in Portland, Dorset, now known as Osprey Quay.

The historic occasion was witnessed by a crowd of onlookers at Osprey Quay, many of whom are ex-members of the Lynx community.  The craft will be officially decommissioned after 41 years of service on 31st March 2017.
