Andy Hunt was named Ranger of the Year at the Land Trust Awards 2018.
Andy was recognised for his tireless work at Silverdale Country Park over the last six years, with the park going from strength to strength under his leadership.
This commitment has seen the site receive Green Flag accreditation in July 2017 and achieve Gold in the Heart of England bloom awards.
Land Trust, director of portfolio management, Alan Carter, said:
“Andy’s work during his time at Silverdale Country Park over the last six years has been absolutely vital to the success of the site and we were delighted to recognise his efforts with the Ranger of the Year award.
“The work our rangers do is so important. They are often the first port of call for anyone using our sites and are responsible for many of the great activities that so many people benefit from on Land Trust green space.”
Two rangers were also highly commended in this category. Sonya Kavanagh was recognised for her work at Beam while Bruce Bell was praised for his contribution at Shirebrook.
