Pond Dipping & Bug Hunting Sessions Every Wednesday from 13 July to 28 August 2019
POND DIPPING
2 Sessions: 11am – 12pm and 2pm – 3pm on the inner lake pier.
We will be dipping in large bath tubs full of pond weed, mud and plants to find lots of weird and wonderful pond creatures, from dragonfly nymphs to leeches towater boatmen.
BUG HUNTING
2 Sessions: 12 – 12.45pm and 3 – 3.45pm. Meet in the walk in meadow in the middle of the park.
Discover the minibeasts that live under logs and in the long grass meadows – this may include newts, beetles, worms and grasshoppers but what we find will change with the weather.
Both suitable for all ages

Dress for the weather. The activity will go ahead rain or shine but we also have a covered classroom in extreme conditions.
The site has a visitor centre and toilets, including accessible toilets with baby changing facilities.
Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park
Good level access across the site with wide wooden boardwalks and accessible bird hides. Activities also accessible. Disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Wheelchair available to borrow. Disabled parking space at end of John Harrison Way. Ring 020 8293 1904 for any special parking arrangements needed.
We strongly advise you use public transport. We have great public transport access: North Greenwich tube, plus buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472, 486 to Millennium Village Oval Square , John Harrison Way or Millennium Way stops. By bicycle or on foot: along the Thames Path between the O2 and the Thames Barrier, with places to lock bikes. Free parking for 2 hours on John Harrison Way, Pear Tree Way and West Parkside but spaces very limited.
