2 guided walks: 1 to 2pm and 3 to 4pm
Join ornithological investigator J D Swann on a walk around the Ecology Park observing the bird life from its boardwalks, paths and hides. We will consider the words that identify birds and the sounds they make, write about what we see and describe the wildlife. J D will also read from a collection of historical bird poetry featuring local species.
Suitable for adults and older children (approx. 8 years and above) but feel free to bring along younger siblings

The site has a visitor centre and toilets, including accessible toilet with baby changing facilities.

Good level access across the site with wide wooden boardwalks and accessible bird hides and pond dipping platform. Activities also accessible. Disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Wheelchair available to borrow. Disabled parking space at end of John Harrison Way. Ring 020 8293 1904 for any special parking arrangements needed.
We strongly advise you use public transport. We have great public transport access: North Greenwich tube, plus buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472, 486 to Millennium Village Oval Square , John Harrison Way or Millennium Way stops. By bicycle or on foot: along the Thames Path between the O2 and the Thames Barrier, with places to lock bikes. Free parking for 2 hours on John Harrison Way, Pear Tree Way and West Parkside but spaces very limited. Please note that the outer boardwalk is currently closed for repair. You can get to the gatehouse and park via the Thames Path, off John Harrison Way.
