Come and learn how to carry out traditional woodland management including coppicing, hedge laying and hedge planting. This is a chance to learn new skills and improve the wildlife value of this old colliery site.

We aim to run further community volunteer sessions in the future and, in the long term, hope to set up a new conservation group.

Come in sturdy footwear, dress in warm clothes and have waterproofs. Bring a hot drink and your packed lunch.
There are no toilets on site.
Meet on Common Lane in Shirebrook - NG20 8RY. More specific instructions will be given when booking.
The site has generally good paths of bound stone. There are several benches.
Parking will be available - this information will be provided when booking.
