A group of volunteers were happy to get their feet wet last week to help keep Beam River flowing freely.
Together they contributed 32 hours of work to clear a 25 sq m area within Beam Parklands. Some 54 bags full of bulrush and litter were removed from the river, which will benefit the whole area.
Park Ranger Sonya Kavanagh said: “This part of the river now looks incredible and we couldn’t have done it without the volunteers – helping out at local green spaces is so valuable and we’re really grateful to everyone who gives up their time to make their community a cleaner and safer place for people and wildlife.”
