Land Trust appoints Alan Carter as new CEO

Green space management charity, the Land Trust today announces the appointment of Alan Carter as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Alan previously held the position of Director of Operations at the Land Trust and has worked for the organisation for 12 years.  Prior to joining the Land Trust Alan, who is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, spent 13 years at British Waterways (now the Canal and River Trust) as Business Development Manager.

Former CEO and founder of the Land Trust, Euan Hall announced his retirement earlier this year following 18 years leading the charity since it was established in 2004.

Alan Carter, CEO at the Land Trust commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed CEO and I am excited about working with our partners as the organisation continues to grow. The Land Trust has such strong foundations and we can continue to develop our offering and ensure our charitable objectives are delivered across all of our sites.”

William Hiscocks, Chairman of the Land Trust said: “Alan has already played an enormous part in the journey of the Land Trust to date and has demonstrated a continued commitment to delivering to communities.

“Alan was the unanimous choice of the Trustee selection panel for the position of CEO and brings with him not only continuity, but a deep understanding of the Trust and the market in which it operates. Under Alan’s leadership, I am confident the organisation will continue to go from strength to strength and I wish him all the best in his new role.”
