Green Angels training courses return to sites

18th August 2020

Over the last six years the Land Trust’s Green Angels programme has been providing free environmental training courses to adults across the country.

Despite spending four months in lockdown, the team has kept people engaged with nature by providing fun, educational activities throughout, and after a long wait the courses are now starting to return.

The first on-site session was held at Silverdale Country Park on 26 July where the team were able to run a bramble and elder workshop in small groups, taught by Red Oak Bushcraft.

All courses will depend on local restrictions, however there are five courses and sessions open for applicants throughout August and September:

  • Willow weaving – Silverdale Country Park
  • Scything and traditional meadow management – Silverdale Country Park
  • Environmental Education – Silverdale Country Park
  • Habitat creation – Warrington
  • Autumn wildlife identification – Warrington
  • Fungi walk – Warrington
  • Pathway construction – Warrington
  • Guided walks – Hassall Green Nature Reserve (TBC)

Each session has strict measures in place to ensure that everyone involved is as safe as possible, which means there will be a limited amount of places available.
