Festival Gardens closed due to Storm Doris

22nd February 2017

Storm Doris hit Merseyside on Thursday 23rd February, bringing 60 to 70mph gusts. An amber warning was issued by the Met Office.

Thanks to the park ranger sand volunteers for dealing with the damaged trees.

Due to the exposed nature of Festival Gardens, the site is closed on Thursday 23rd February.

Several trees have been damaged, so to allow the team to assess and make safe, Festival Gardens will remain closed on Friday 24th February.

We aim to reopen as soon as possible, but please check Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates.

Many of us have a lot to thank the Land Trust and Green Angels projects for.  I may not have got my new job without doing the Environmental Education course you facilitated and Grow Green Liverpool wouldn't have existed either.  You've helped me to achieve something I've been trying to do for about 4 years now and I really appreciate that. Add to that the friendships we've formed too and that really is precious.
