Cafes and play areas back open across Land Trust parks

While life continues to return to normal for many, the Land Trust has been working hard to ensure its sites reflect that.

Although most sites remained open throughout lockdown for those who wanted an escape into nature, amenities such as play areas and visitor centres had to close due to covid-19.

Teams across the country have been working hard to ensure a safe re-opening of many of our facilities, which include visitor centres at Northumberlandia, Pleasley Pit and Greenwich Ecology Park.

Play areas are now open and are being routinely inspected and disinfected. Adults are advised to make sure hands are washed before and after play, and that when in the park they maintain a safe distance.

The easing of restrictions has come at the perfect time as families look to get outdoors and make memories this summer. Some activities are taking place on sites but numbers are limited. Please check out individual site pages for more information.

The visitor centre and café at Northumberlandia will be open from 10-5 Monday-Saturday, and 11-5 on Sundays. They will be serving drinks and light refreshments.

Pleasley Pit’s café is now open for takeaway and outdoor seating only, serving food and drinks from Thursday to Monday, 10-2. The engine houses will be open from 14 August following the same times as the café.

The café at Port Sunlight River Park remains closed until further notice.

The Land Trust is currently looking into providing ice creams on more sites, along with hot and soft drinks.
