Pond Dipping & Bug Hunting Day

Discover the secret world of minibeasts with guided pond dipping and bug hunting sessions.

Pond dipping sessions are from 11am-12pm and from 1pm-2pm and bug and newt hunting sessions are from 12pm-1pm and from 2pm-3pm. Suitable for all ages and no booking necessary unless you are a group of 8 or more. All under 10s must be accompanied by an adult on site.

Dress for the weather (it will go ahead rain or shine!). Pond dipping involves lying down on a wooden decking area.

The site has a small visitor centre and toilets. There will be quiz trails and colouring available on site. There is no café but a shop and café are nearby in Millenium Village Oval Square.

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park

Good level access across the site with wide wooden boardwalks and accessible bird hides. Activities also accessible. Disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Disabled parking space at the end of John Harrison Way. Ring 0208 293 1904 for any special parking arrangements needed.

Free parking for 2 hours on John Harrison Way, Pear Tree Way and West Parkside but spaces are limited. Good public transport access: North Greenwich tube, buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472, 486. By bicycle or on foot: along the Thames Path between the O2 and the Thames Barrier with places to lock bikes.
