Learn about the newts that live and breed at the Avenue Washlands nature reserve over a two session event.

Part 1

An evening session includes an introduction to the reserve and newts. You will learn how to carry out torchlight surveys and set bottle traps in a number of reserve ponds alongside certified Derbyshire Wildlife Trust staff.

Part 2

The following morning we will collect and empty the survey traps and see what has been found – no animals will be harmed.

Dependent on weather conditions.

Suitable for age 12+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). Ideally you should be able to attend both sessions.
