Coppice and Hedgelaying practical sessions

Brook Park

Come and learn how to carry out traditional woodland management including coppicing and hedgelaying at Brook Park. This is a chance to learn new skills and improve the wildlife value of this old Colliery site.

These free sessions will take place from 10am to 2:30pm on Wednesdays 23 and 30 January and 6 February at Brook Park, Shirebrook, Meadow Lane NG19 8RU.

Not all sessions need to be attended, but everyone is welcome to each one.

January sessions will cover hedgelaying and coppicing will be carried out on February 6.

Come in sturdy footwear and dress in warm clothes and have waterproofs. Bring a hot drink and your packed lunch.

There are no toilets on site.

Meet on Common Lane in Shirebrook, NG20 8RY more specific instructions will be given when booking

The site has generally good paths of bound stone. There are several benches.

Parking will be available – this information will be provided when booking.
