The Land Trust is seeking partners to help manage and maintain a portfolio of unique community woodlands and green spaces across Yorkshire, including Bentley Community Woodland, Brodsworth Community Woodland, Cudworth Common, Dinnington, Kiveton Community Woodland, New Park Springs and Phoenix Park.
These sites represent some of the UK’s most successful examples of coalfield regeneration. Once home to collieries and spoil heaps, they have been transformed through the National Coalfields Programme into thriving landscapes that support biodiversity, recreation, community wellbeing and local economic renewal.
Together, the sites comprise extensive woodlands, wetlands, meadows, public art, accessible trail networks and important wildlife habitats, welcoming visitors throughout the year.
- Delivering the requirements of the Site Management Plan
- Managing the site within budget
- Ensuring the site is well managed and maintained
- Managing staff, including recruiting and supporting volunteers
- Procuring goods and services for the site
- Monitoring quality and standards associated with all service delivery
- Developing, engaging, consulting and supporting friend’s groups, user/interest groups and local communities to get involved in the park
- Developing an events strategy and running an annual programme of events; working closely with the Land Trust communications team will be an essential part of this role
- Developing an education programme, liaising with schools and youth organisations etc. to ensure an appropriate fit for the site
- Responding to day-to-day enquiries and complaints from the public
- Working with partner organisations involved in the site at a local and strategic level
- Ensuring the health and safety of users and service providers, including addressing policy requirements, such as accident reporting and monitoring
- Working within requirements of specified policies and regulations e.g. Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection, Land Trust’s Health and Safety Policy and Communications Protocol
- Maintaining comprehensive records including auditable financial records of income and expenditure
- Delivering and reporting on the Land Trust’s Charitable Key Performance Indicators which are: to improve the health and wellbeing of the community, provide education and a learning resource, support economic prosperity, encourage community cohesion and enhance the natural environment.
The Managing Agent will be appointed through a 10-year Termed Management Agreement, with a five-year break-clause. The agreement will be the subject of an annual review
