Carr Lodge

This former grazing pasture has been transformed into a flourishing wetland haven, rich with wildlife

Carr Lodge is an 8-hectare nature reserve in Doncaster that has undergone a remarkable transformation since being acquired by the Land Trust in 2012. Once an overgrazed urban site with little ecological value, it has been revitalised in partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust into a thriving haven for wildlife. Seasonal wetlands now support a diverse range of birds and invertebrates, making it an important local habitat.

Thanks to dedicated conservation efforts and continuous wildlife monitoring by volunteers, Carr Lodge has been officially recognised as a Local Wildlife Site by Doncaster Council.
