Health site of the year
Frickley Country Park was the winner of the Land
Trust’s Health Site of the Year award in 2019.
Alongside parkrun there is a wide variety of health
activities happening with Nordic Walking and ladies
fitness sessions proving popular. The football pitches
are well used with over 5,000 visits to the four pitches
in 2018-19, with several youth teams using them as
their base.
The football pitches and parkrun events have
brought hundreds of new visitors to the park, many
of whom now visit for walks and runs on their own.
The site is now more popular with locals, with many
choosing to walk their dogs or take a relaxing walk
on the park.
