Bilston Urban Village is a flagship development for Wolverhamption and the wider Black Country. It aims to showcase the area's ability to deliver mixed-use and sustainable housing development alongside the creation and management of high quality green spaces that are an asset for both local communities and biodiversity. The Land Trust has responsibility for the public open spaces that are part of the Urban Village and will work the secondary school and local community to help them get the most out of the green spaces on their doorstep and enjoy the physical and mental benefits that spending time outdoors can bring.
Bilston Urban Village is a major initiative to build 400 new homes, alongside employment and commercial development on brownfield land immediately to the south of Bilston, one of the major urban areas in the north-west of the Black Country.
The aims of the project were to rehabilitate and improve the biodiversity of 14 hectares of land to create a network of linked biodiverse and multi-functional greenspaces with in the development.
The responsibility for management of these greenspaces was transferred to the Land Trust at the end of 2019.

The green spaces are open 24 hours a day.
The site is free to use.
There are footpaths throughout the site.
Well controlled dogs are welcome.
Alongside the new homes there has also been significant investment in a new leisure centre and secondary school and a network of paths and cycle routes across the site to encourage people to get around in a more environmentally friendly way.
