Clean For The Queen success at Land Trust sites

14th March 2016

Land Trust sites across the country took part in Keep Britain Tidy's campaign to Clean For The Queen during the weekend of 4th – 6th March 2016, with more events to follow in the coming weeks.

Some of the success stories so far are:

  • Volunteers, including local residents and supporters from Warrington Borough Council helped to remove 20 large waste bags of litter (enough to fill two council wagons and a trailer!) from the woods and pathways surrounding Seeds Plantation, Callands and Sankey Valley Park, Warrington.
  • Volunteers at the Green Gym session at Monkton Community Woodlands did a great job in tidying the car park and filled 4 sacks of litter from there alone. Footpath maintenance work was also completed on some of the woodland trails during the usual two hour session.
  • A fully booked up session at Beam Parklands on 4th March involved a team of volunteers walking the site and collecting 12 bags of litter over three hours whilst walking the site.
