Would you like to help your local park or nature reserve? We are always on the look out for enthusiastic, committed people who want to make a real and lasting difference in their local community. By volunteering, you won’t just be having a positive impact in your community, you’ll also meet new people, gain a wide range of skills and experiences and improve your CV.
The volunteering opportunities at our sites can be tailored to your skills and interests and the best thing is – you don’t have to have any prior experience to get involved!
We already have hundreds of fantastic volunteers who are instrumental to us, so if you’d like to get involved, then see the various ways you can do so below.

If you are handy with your hands and like to keep active, then you may like to help maintain your park. Here are some examples of how you can get involved:
We run several different types of events all through the year at our sites. These range from regular guided nature walks to Family Fun Days, community open days and seasonal events.
These can be organised by the site rangers or by a local ‘Friends of’ group and there will be different types of support you can do, such as help out at a specific event, or speak with the ‘Friend of’ group to get involved in bigger events.
Examples of these are:
If you have a particular skill or area of knowledge, such as bird or insect identification, you may be interested in leading or assisting with activities or workshops.
If you don’t have much time, or don’t want to get involved in specific activities, you can still get involved simply whilst you enjoy the park.
