Policy

We create, conserve and enhance green spaces in and around urban areas, managing them long term, with secured funding, so that people have access to good quality open spaces and can benefit from the multiple opportunities the natural environment provides.

As an advocate of the benefits of green spaces, we want to use our experience and evidence to influence current thinking on issues that impact green spaces.

We want to ensure that local and national governments recognise the significant benefits that green spaces provide to society, the economy and the environment.

We do this in a variety of ways:

  • Responding to policy consultations
  • Developing relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Participating in relevant working groups

Important policy areas that we focus on are outlined in the section below.

I used to work at Askern pit so I've got an affinity with the place. I've been volunteering at the park for the past couple of years, helping people get the most out of it.
