Frog Day

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park

A frogtastic free fun day to celebrate all things froggy.

Fun day with froggy art, quiz trails, pond dipping, close up encounters with newts, garden pond workshop and more! We will also be welcoming special guests Froglife and Cairis Hickey from the Wiggly Wild Show!

Free entry and free activities and suitable for all ages. There will also be a barbeque (no frogs!), refreshments, second hand book stall, froggy raffle and gift stall, with all proceeds going to the Friends group to help support the park. Plus a free cup of tea or coffee for all mums to celebrate Mother’s Day!

No booking required. All under 10s must be accompanied by an adult.
Free activities on offer include:

  • Pond Dipping 11am to 12pm and 1pm to 2pm
  • Pondemonium session with Tony Day 12pm to 1pm
  • Meet the Newts session with Froglife 2pm to 3pm
  • Wildlife gardening – ongoing all day
  • Froggy art – ongoing all day
  • Toadly awesome quiz trails for younger and older children (and adults if they like!)

Dress for the weather (it will go ahead rain or shine)! Some activities may be messy! Pond dipping involves lying down on a wooden decking area.

The site has a visitor centre and toilets, including accessible toilet with baby changing facilities. A pop up café will be selling refreshments at this event.

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park

Good level access across the site with wide wooden boardwalks and accessible bird hides. Activities are also accessible. Disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Wheelchair available to borrow. Disabled parking space at end of John Harrison Way. Ring 0208 293 1904 for any special parking arrangements needed.

Good public transport access: North Greenwich tube, buses 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422,472, 286 to Millenium Village Oval Square stop. By bicycle or on foot : along the Thames Path between the O2 and the Thames Barrier, with places to lock bikes. Free parking for 2 hours on John Harrison Way, Pear Tree Way and West Parkside but spaces are very limited.
